China Unveils Three-Year Plan to Digitize Raw Materials Industry

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: China has announced a comprehensive three-year plan to digitalize its raw materials industry, emphasizing the construction of a state-of-the-art big data center dedicated to new materials. The plan, spanning 2024 to 2026, was jointly issued by nine government departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The ambitious initiative includes the establishment of four digitalization promotion centers and manufacturing innovation centers tailored for key segments within the raw materials industry. The sector holds substantial significance in the digital transformation of manufacturing, contributing approximately 30 percent to the value-added output of China’s large industrial firms.
One of the primary objectives outlined in the plan is the creation of a cutting-edge big data center focused on new materials. This initiative aligns with China’s broader strategy to integrate advanced technologies into its industrial landscape. The plan also identifies 14 specific tasks, ranging from enhancing basic capabilities to refining supporting services, all geared towards achieving digitalization targets by 2026.
Furthermore, the roadmap underscores the interconnected development of the raw materials industry and artificial intelligence (AI). To facilitate this synergy, the plan aims to establish a mechanism aligning the demands and innovations of raw materials companies with those in the AI sector.
The move is anticipated to fortify China’s position in the global digital economy and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of its raw materials industry.
