China’s Strategic Blueprint for Automotive Chip Standards

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced on Monday the issuance of guidance aimed at establishing national standards for automotive chips. The objective is to accelerate the progress and implementation of these standards, fostering research, development, and application within the automotive chip sector, as reported by The Europe Today.

The guidance underscores prioritizing the creation of urgently needed standards that are foundational, widespread, and pertinent to key products. By the year 2025, China intends to formulate over 30 essential standards for automotive chips, delineating fundamental requirements concerning reliability, environmental considerations, electromagnetic compatibility, functional safety, and information security.

Looking ahead to 2030, the plan involves crafting more than 70 standards to effectively support the evolution of forward-thinking, integrated automotive chip technology and products.

This initiative reflects China’s commitment to advancing its capabilities in the automotive semiconductor domain.
