China's Top Legislator Meets with Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians' Union Chairman

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Zhao Leji, China’s top legislator and chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, held a meeting with Toshihiro Nikai, chairman of the Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ Union, in Beijing on Wednesday. During the meeting, Zhao underscored the importance of the four political documents that form the political and legal foundation of China-Japan relations, emphasizing that peace, friendship, and cooperation are the only viable paths for the two nations.

Zhao expressed China’s readiness to work collaboratively with Japan to continually enhance mutual trust, deepen cooperation, address differences constructively, and advance bilateral relations along a sound and steady course. He highlighted the deep economic interdependence and intertwined industrial chains between China and Japan, stressing the need for strengthened cooperation to ensure mutual success.

The NPC of China, Zhao noted, is open to engaging in various forms of exchanges and cooperation with Japan’s House of Representatives and House of Councillors. He also extended a warm invitation to Japanese friends from all sectors, including parliamentarians, to visit China and gain a comprehensive understanding of the country.

Toshihiro Nikai, in response, acknowledged the importance of people-to-people friendship in fostering strong bilateral ties. He reaffirmed the Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians’ Union’s commitment to contributing to the stable and healthy development of relations between Japan and China.
