Senior Chinese Leaders Engage in Deliberations at Second Session of National People's Congress

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Several prominent Chinese leaders, including Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng, participated in deliberations at the second session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s national legislature, on Tuesday.

Li Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and premier of the State Council, emphasized the need for Yunnan Province to leverage its advantages and characteristics to seamlessly integrate into the national strategy of regional coordinated development. He urged Yunnan to play an active role in opening up and transform its geographical advantage into a new edge for enhanced collaboration.

Zhao Leji, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, during deliberations with Sichuan Province deputies, called for the province to implement decisions made by the CPC Central Committee and promote Chinese modernization. Zhao emphasized the importance of relying on scientific and technological innovation to create new drivers for development, urging a focus on ecological progress and improvement of people’s livelihoods.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, joined deputies from Guizhou Province in a deliberation. He urged the province to comprehensively implement decisions made by the CPC Central Committee and work towards advancing Chinese modernization. Wang specifically called for promoting rural revitalization, consolidating achievements in poverty alleviation, and accelerating high-quality development in areas with large ethnic minority populations.

Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese vice premier, engaged with legislators from Liaoning Province, stressing the importance of focusing on the Party’s central task and promoting high-quality development. Ding urged Liaoning to accelerate the development of new quality productive forces, transform traditional industries, and construct a modernized industrial system.

Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, deliberated the government work report with lawmakers from Fujian Province. He highlighted the importance of advancing the high-quality development of discipline inspection and supervision, emphasizing the need to create an environment with both order and vitality while addressing corruption and improving people’s well-being.

Vice President Han Zheng, while speaking with lawmakers from Shandong Province, called for the thorough implementation of decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee. He stressed the need to focus on the central task of economic development and the primary task of high-quality development to advance Chinese modernization.

The deliberations at the second session of the National People’s Congress reflect the leadership’s commitment to addressing key issues and advancing the nation’s development goals.
