Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Mongolian PM Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation at CIIE
Shanghai, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene on Tuesday in Shanghai, where the Mongolian leader is attending the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE). The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in various sectors.
Premier Li highlighted the positive and stable trajectory of China-Mongolia relations, noting that under the strategic guidance of their respective heads of state, the two countries have maintained a strong partnership in recent years. He emphasized China’s high regard for its friendly cooperation with Mongolia, calling it a priority in China’s neighborhood diplomacy.
Li also underscored the importance of implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state, with a focus on deepening practical cooperation for the benefit of both peoples. He outlined China’s commitment to further aligning its development strategy with Mongolia, enhancing trade and investment ties, and promoting infrastructure cooperation in key areas such as port connectivity, mining, and hydropower projects.
The Chinese Premier encouraged both nations to explore new opportunities for cooperation in emerging industries, particularly in high-tech and green development sectors. He also expressed support for Chinese businesses to invest and operate in Mongolia, contributing to mutual economic growth.
Li reiterated China’s commitment to working with Mongolia and other Asian nations to pursue peace, solidarity, and cooperation, especially within multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene reaffirmed Mongolia’s firm adherence to the one-China policy and expressed the country’s willingness to maintain mutual respect on core issues. He highlighted Mongolia’s readiness to deepen cooperation with China in areas such as energy, urban planning, and desertification control, and to explore new avenues in fields like artificial intelligence, green development, and human resources.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment to expanding bilateral ties and exploring new fields of collaboration for the mutual benefit of both nations.
