Chinese Premier Li Qiang Arrives in Australia

Canberra, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Australia on Saturday for an official visit, marking the second leg of his three-nation tour. During his stay, Premier Li and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will co-chair the ninth China-Australia Annual Leaders’ Meeting and jointly attend a China-Australia CEO Roundtable Meeting.

Premier Li emphasized the longstanding history of exchanges between China and Australia, noting that the friendship between the two peoples remains ever new over time. He recalled that in 2014, Chinese President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Australia led to the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. Since then, exchanges and cooperation in various fields have been accelerating and upgrading, with mutual benefit and win-win cooperation being the mainstream of bilateral ties.

Reflecting on recent developments, Premier Li noted Prime Minister Albanese’s successful visit to China last year, which helped restore bilateral relations after a period of challenges.

“History has proven that mutual respect, seeking common ground while shelving differences, and mutually beneficial cooperation are valuable experiences in the development of China-Australia relations, and need to be upheld and carried forward,” Premier Li stated.

Premier Li’s visit underscores the commitment of both countries to deepening their strategic partnership and exploring new avenues for collaboration and mutual growth.
