Chinese Premier Li Qiang to Visit Russia and Belarus for High-Level Meetings
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang will embark on an official visit to Russia and Belarus from August 20 to 23, following invitations from Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, according to an announcement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Monday.
During his visit to Russia, Premier Li will co-chair the 29th regular meeting between the Chinese and Russian heads of government alongside Prime Minister Mishustin. The discussions are expected to cover a wide range of topics, including bilateral relations, practical cooperation, and issues of mutual concern. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, emphasized that the two leaders will engage in in-depth exchanges to further strengthen the partnership between China and Russia.
Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet with Premier Li during his visit, as confirmed by the press service of the Russian government.
Premier Li’s visit will also include a stop in Belarus, where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko. The discussions will focus on enhancing China-Belarus relations and exploring avenues for cooperation across various sectors, according to spokesperson Mao Ning at a daily press briefing.
This visit underscores China’s commitment to deepening ties with its strategic partners in Russia and Belarus, reflecting the growing importance of these relationships in the current geopolitical landscape.
