Chinese Vice Premier Urges Sound Implementation of Post-Disaster Reconstruction Projects
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang has emphasized the critical need for the effective implementation of projects supported by the country’s additional government bonds for post-disaster reconstruction. During his recent research tour in Fangshan District, Beijing, and Zhuozhou city, Hebei Province, Ding underscored the necessity for strict supervision over the utilization of the fund.
Ding, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, addressed these concerns during a symposium held in Zhuozhou on Sunday, following his extensive research tour.
Highlighting the importance of excellence and integrity in these reconstruction endeavors, Ding stressed the significance of winning public approval through the quality execution of projects.
In response to the devastating impact of disasters, particularly in the wake of the issuance of an additional 1 trillion yuan (approximately 140.9 billion U.S. dollars) in government bonds in 2023 to bolster reconstruction projects and enhance disaster-response capabilities, Ding’s directives carry significant weight.
During his visits to the affected areas, Ding emphasized the paramount importance of prioritizing quality and functionality in major infrastructure projects. He particularly emphasized the need for simultaneous progress in functional improvement alongside reconstruction efforts to enhance the capital’s resilience against flood risks.
Furthermore, Ding urged for a strategic approach to construction progress, advocating for the timely completion of key reconstruction projects to ensure their readiness before the onset of the upcoming flood season.
As China continues its efforts towards post-disaster recovery and resilience-building, Ding Xuexiang’s directives serve as a cornerstone for ensuring the effective utilization of resources and the successful implementation of reconstruction initiatives, ultimately safeguarding the well-being of communities across the nation.
