Concert Celebrated for Magtymguly Fragi in Ankara
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: A special concert titled “The Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World Magtymguly Fragi” took place in Ankara as part of the cultural events under the theme “Anau – the cultural capital of the Turkic world” and to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi.
Organized jointly by TURKSOY (International Organization of Turkic Culture), the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ankara, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, the concert showcased the rich cultural heritage of Turkmenistan.
According to a statement on the TURKSOY website, the concert featured performances by renowned People’s Artists of Turkmenistan including Akmuhammed Khanov, Dovletmurad Khanmammedov, Meylis Gochmuradov, Maya Orozberdiyeva, and Gulshat Gurdova. Additionally, the dance ensemble of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture “Miras” presented captivating traditional dances.
The event was part of a broader cultural program initiated in Ankara to mark the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, a revered Turkmen poet and philosopher whose works continue to resonate across the Turkic-speaking world.
The concert highlighted the deep cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Turkey, celebrating Magtymguly Fragi’s enduring legacy and promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding among Turkic nations.
