Beijing, The Gulf Observer: The National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China’s top political advisory body, convened a biweekly consultation session on Friday to deliberate on the strategic layout for rural infrastructure and public services.

The session was presided over by Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee. In his opening remarks, Wang emphasized the necessity for political advisors to engage deeply with the frontlines and grassroots levels of rural areas. He urged them to broaden their research perspectives and intensify their investigative efforts to propose more targeted and practical recommendations that would facilitate the implementation of established policies.

During the session, ten political advisors and a grassroots representative presented their insights and suggestions. The speakers unanimously agreed on the importance of synchronizing new urbanization initiatives with comprehensive rural revitalization plans, and integrating urban and rural infrastructure development.

The advisors stressed the need for enhanced efforts in developing rural infrastructure, public services, and healthcare systems. They advocated for the optimization of rural public cultural spaces and called for improvements in education and elderly care services in rural regions.

The session underscored the CPPCC’s commitment to advancing rural development and ensuring the equitable provision of public services. By fostering a coordinated approach to urban and rural planning, the political advisors aim to support sustainable development and improve the quality of life for rural populations.

The CPPCC National Committee will continue to prioritize rural development in its consultations, seeking to bridge the urban-rural divide and promote balanced national growth.
