Czechia Showcases Autonomous Innovation and Smart Mobility at Expo 2025 in Osaka

Osaka, The Gulf Observer: At Expo 2025, Czechia is making a bold statement on the global stage by highlighting its advancements in smart mobility and autonomous systems. During a dedicated Week of Autonomous Technologies, the Czech Pavilion has captured the attention of visitors with real-world solutions—from emergency drones and infrastructure diagnostics to an autonomous electric formula car.
With over 150 countries participating, Expo 2025 is a major platform for technological and cultural exchange. Czechia’s presence has gone beyond aesthetics, focusing on functional innovations that address today’s most pressing global challenges.
“The World Expos are kind of Olympic Games of Business, Academia and Innovations,” said Ondřej Soška, General Commissioner of the Czech Pavilion. “They are a perfect opportunity not only to showcase the results of our work, but also to build new international connections and open doors. Very happy that the Czech Pavilion has been receiving exceptionally positive feedback since day one.”
Autonomous Tech for Public Safety
Kicking off the week-long program, the Czech Pavilion demonstrated the country’s capabilities in public safety and emergency response. Developed by the Information Technology Administration of the City of Plzeň, the exhibit featured cutting-edge drones and inspection tools used by emergency services.
Visitors witnessed live demonstrations, including aerial mapping of national parks, structural diagnostics for bridges and dams, and simulated interventions by fire and rescue teams. The emphasis was not just on the technology, but also on its real-life implementation by Czech institutions.
“Visitors saw how these autonomous systems are already used by Czech fire brigades and national park services,” Soška said. “The people really loved it.”
Student Innovation Steals the Spotlight
On the second day, attention shifted to the future of Czech innovation. The e-Force Prague Formula student team from Czech Technical University in Prague presented their latest creation—CTU24, an autonomous electric race car that has competed in the prestigious international Formula Student competition.
“The team presented their amazing autonomous race car called CTU24, and I was really impressed,” Soška noted. “Visitors got a behind-the-scenes look at the car’s development, autonomous systems, remote control features, and diagnostics.”
The vehicle is now on display in front of the Czech National Pavilion and will remain there through the end of the week.
Innovation With Purpose
From student-led projects to advanced emergency response tools, Czechia is demonstrating that innovation is not exclusive to the world’s largest economies. With a focus on practical, deployable technology, the Czech Pavilion offers a glimpse into how smaller countries can lead in global tech development by solving real-world problems.
