David Degtyarev Secures Gold for Kazakhstan at 2024 Paralympic Games

Kazakhstani powerlifter David Degtyarev has secured a gold medal in the men’s 54 kg para powerlifting finals at the ongoing 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, France, according to NHC. Degtyarev, 28, has made history as Kazakhstan’s first-ever athlete to win two Paralympic gold medals.

A native of the Akmola region, Degtyarev has been competing internationally since 2017, consistently establishing himself as a formidable contender in para powerlifting. His impressive career includes titles as an Asian Games champion and two-time world champion.
