Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Andrey Rudenko, emphasized the enduring strength of Russia-Iran relations, asserting that no external force can create a rift between the two nations.

Speaking on Wednesday, Rudenko stated, “As a sovereign nation, Iran has the right to pursue its foreign policies as it sees fit,” according to TASS. He underscored that the relations between Russia and Iran are built on a solid foundation of friendship and neighborliness, and are resilient against external attempts to drive a wedge between them.

“The relations between Russia and Iran have a solid basis of friendship and neighborliness and are not susceptible to external influence, despite our adversaries’ attempts to play dirty and drive a wedge between the two nations,” Rudenko added.

Highlighting the recent engagements between the two countries, Rudenko noted that senior members of the Iranian government, including a delegation that met with President Vladimir Putin, have expressed their readiness to strengthen bilateral relations and implement mutually beneficial projects endorsed by Iran’s Supreme Leader.

Rudenko also revealed that Russia and Iran have completed the draft of a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, which is expected to be signed soon.

In a press conference on July 10, Rudenko reiterated that Iran has become one of Russia’s most important partners and friends. He expressed Moscow’s hope to finalize and sign the comprehensive cooperation agreement with Tehran in the near future.

The robust relationship between Russia and Iran continues to thrive, driven by mutual respect and strategic cooperation, despite external pressures and challenges.
