DEWA’s AED 20 Million Contribution Bolsters Mothers’ Endowment Campaign

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: In a demonstration of unwavering commitment to philanthropy and social empowerment, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has pledged AED 20 million towards the noble cause of the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. Launched under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the campaign aims to establish a monumental AED 1 billion endowment fund dedicated to honoring mothers and supporting global education initiatives.
Timed to coincide with the holy month of Ramadan, the Mothers’ Endowment campaign serves as a beacon of compassion and solidarity within the community, championing the values of filial piety and kindness while reinforcing the UAE’s humanitarian legacy. By creating a sustainable endowment, the campaign envisions a world where education becomes a transformative force, empowering millions worldwide.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, expressed the organization’s profound eagerness to partake in this noble endeavor spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He lauded the campaign as a testament to Sheikh Mohammed’s boundless generosity and global humanitarian leadership, highlighting its potential to catalyze positive change in the lives of millions by fostering education and empowerment.
Al Tayer emphasized DEWA’s pride in supporting the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, which celebrates the unparalleled sacrifices and altruism of mothers while building upon the resounding success of previous Ramadan initiatives launched by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. Notably, the campaign addresses the pressing global challenge of ensuring quality education for all, thereby advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 4 for 2030.
Proceeds generated from the Mothers’ Endowment campaign will be dedicated to launching educational projects in underserved communities, in collaboration with esteemed humanitarian organizations. The campaign welcomes contributions and donations from institutions and individuals through various channels, including the campaign’s website, a dedicated call center, bank transfers, SMS donations, the DubaiNow app, and Dubai’s community contributions platform, Jood.
