Peshawar, The Gulf Observer: In a collaborative initiative, the renowned Khwendo Kor Organization and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University joined forces to host a significant seminar at Sarena, Peshawar, focusing on the pressing challenges faced by displaced women. The closing ceremony was held at the Serena Hotel Peshawar. Dr. Zarmina Baloch, Dr. Toheeda Begum from SBBWUP, Adil Khan and Sadaf Waheed from Khwaindo Kor welcomed the guests. The event brought together key figures such as Director of Operations, Mr. Khalid Usman, Dr. Syed Shaheed Hussain Suharwardi , Vice Chancellor Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmad (T.I) and Project Manager, Ms. Daimeen, who shared valuable insights on various aspects of women’s empowerment.
During the seminar, Ms. Zubaida Khatoon, the Chairperson of Khwendo Kor’s Board of Directors, underscored the critical importance of fortifying women’s roles in society to foster peace. The discussion revolved around the theme “Women Socio-economic Situation and Solutions to It,” shedding light on the multifaceted issues affecting women and proposing actionable solutions.
Distinguished guests, including the Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, graced the occasion alongside representatives from the government, civil society, and academia. The participants expressed their unwavering commitment to collaborate extensively for the empowerment of women, recognizing the significance of collective efforts.
The event also featured the “closing ceremony of DOSTI women festival,” adding a cultural and literary dimension to the broader discourse. Noteworthy personalities like Justice (R) Irshad Qaiser the Minister for Prison, Relief, Rehabilitation & Settlement, Zakat, Ushr, Social Welfare, Special Education & Women Empowerment, KP, further enriched the seminar with her presence.
