Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei Joins 9th Awqaf Ministers Conference in Makkah
Makkah, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, participated in the 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs in Islamic Countries, held in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The two-day conference, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, concludes today.
This year’s conference, themed “Role of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ministries in Promoting and Consolidating the Principles and Values of Moderation,” has gathered Islamic leaders from over 60 countries, including ministers, muftis, and heads of Islamic organizations.
During the second session, Dr. Al Darei addressed the UAE’s strategic approach to promoting tolerance. He emphasized that this approach is integral to the broader national strategy led by UAE leadership. Dr. Al Darei highlighted the importance of early awareness and vigilance in safeguarding societal harmony and advocated for robust monitoring systems to address potential threats.
“Tolerance leads to positive outcomes,” Dr. Al Darei remarked. “It serves as common ground where all religions and cultures can collaborate. A strong national framework is essential for fostering successful tolerance.”
The conference provided a platform for discussing key issues related to endowments and Islamic affairs, with a focus on enhancing moderation and interfaith collaboration.
