East Java Government Opens Public Kitchen in Aceh Tamiang to Aid Flood and Landslide Victims

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: The East Java Provincial Government, through its Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana), has set up a public kitchen in Aceh Tamiang District, Aceh, to support food distribution for residents affected by recent floods and landslides.
“Since the second day, we have deployed six Tagana personnel along with equipment to operate the public kitchen for victims in Aceh Tamiang District,” East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa said in Banda Aceh on Saturday.
She delivered the statement during the official handover of assistance from the East Java government and community to disaster-affected residents in Aceh. The aid was received by Aceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir at the Aceh Hydrometeorological Disaster Emergency Response Command Post.
Governor Khofifah emphasized that the establishment of the public kitchen reflects East Java’s solidarity with the people of Aceh during this difficult time. She added that the provincial government is also prepared to deploy medical teams to support post-disaster health services.
“Alhamdulillah, we have many specialist doctors ready to assist the victims, and they will be mobilized to Aceh,” she said.
She further requested that the Aceh Government provide a list of required medical personnel, including specialists. “Once the data is available, we are ready to meet the needs so that health services in the affected areas can run optimally,” she added.
The assistance from East Java includes IDR 3 billion in financial aid and goods worth IDR 895 million, along with additional support to help the recovery efforts.
