EDGE Signs Strategic Partnership with Brazilian Navy to Develop Anti-Drone Systems

Rio de Janeiro, The Gulf Observer: EDGE, one of the world’s leading advanced technology companies and defense groups, has announced the signing of a strategic letter of intent with the Brazilian Navy, specifically with the Navy’s Weapons Systems Directorate. The agreement details a collaborative effort in the joint development of anti-drone systems.

The next phase of the agreement will see the establishment of a joint working group, consisting of technical experts from both EDGE and the Brazilian Navy. This group will work closely to advance the newly established partnership and ensure the successful development of sophisticated counter-drone systems.

The cooperation aims to create and deploy counter-drone systems specifically tailored to the unique needs of naval defense. A key focus will be on autonomous surface and aerial technologies, designed to neutralize threats posed by autonomous air and surface vehicles. These systems will integrate advanced sensors, including radars and electro-optical technologies, as well as signal jamming capabilities, to effectively detect, track, and neutralize potential drone threats.

The document was officially signed at the LAAD Defence & Security 2025 exhibition, which is currently being held at the Riocentro Exhibition & Convention Centre in Rio de Janeiro. This agreement marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance technical, operational, and logistical cooperation between EDGE and the Brazilian Navy.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing cutting-edge anti-drone technologies, further strengthening Brazil’s naval defense capabilities in the face of emerging threats in the domain of unmanned aerial and surface systems.
