El-Sisi meets Palestinian Mahmoud Abbas
Cairo, The Gulf Observer: Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, met Monday his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, currently on a visit to Egypt.
The two sides discussed ways to coordinate stances and visions vis-à-vis a number of issues related to the Palestinian issue, especially with regard to reviving the peace process.
In a statement, Presidential Spokesman. Counsellor Ahmed Fahmy, said that the two presidents had stressed the need to preserve the legitimate Palestinian rights, and the continuation of efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law, the relevant international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, in order to achieve security and stability and prosperity for all the peoples of the region.
