Elena Rybakina Advances to Third Round of WTA Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships
Dubai, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan’s World No. 7 Elena Rybakina stormed into the third round of the WTA Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, securing a decisive victory over Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima in the second round.
Rybakina defeated World No. 62 Uchijima with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in a match that lasted one hour and fourteen minutes. The Kazakhstani star showcased her powerful game, serving six aces, committing two double faults, and successfully converting three out of four break points.
With this win, Rybakina sets up a highly anticipated third-round clash against World No. 10 Paula Badosa of Spain.
Meanwhile, in another tournament update, Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik was eliminated in the first round of the 2025 Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha after a loss to World No. 10 Andrey Rublev.
