Erdogan Reaffirms Türkiye's Unwavering Commitment to Eradicating Terrorism

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has once again emphasized Türkiye’s steadfast commitment to eradicating terrorism, highlighting the significant progress made against the separatist terrorist organization PKK, which has plagued the nation for four decades.

In a speech delivered at the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy Graduation Ceremony in Ankara on Thursday, President Erdogan stated, “We will continue our fight with determination and resolve until we eliminate terrorism as a source of threat to our country.” He further asserted, “Going back from this point is absolutely out of the question.”

The president underscored that Türkiye’s courageous and principled stance on the global stage is rooted in the successes achieved in the realm of security over the past 22 years. This strength, he noted, is essential in continuing the nation’s mission to ensure the safety and stability of its people.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union, has been responsible for a nearly 40-year terror campaign against Türkiye, resulting in the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.

President Erdogan’s remarks reinforce Türkiye’s unwavering resolve to maintain its fight against terrorism and secure lasting peace and security for the nation.
