Erdogan Reaffirms Unwavering Support for Palestine in Talks with Abbas

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Presidential Complex in Ankara to discuss the ongoing violence in Palestinian territories and the necessary steps toward achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

During their meeting, the leaders condemned the atrocities committed by Israel in Palestine and deliberated on strategies to bring about lasting peace. President Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s unwavering support for Palestine and its commitment to intensifying international pressure on Israel.

“Türkiye will continue to support Palestine’s just cause and work to stop Israel,” Erdogan stated. He strongly condemned Israel’s actions, highlighting the massacre of civilians, including children, the displacement of innocent Palestinians, and the targeting of schools, hospitals, and civilian shelters in Gaza.

President Erdogan also criticized the silence of some Western countries regarding these actions, stating, “It is unacceptable for some Western countries to remain silent about all this and continue to aid Israel.”

The Turkish President called on the international community, especially the Muslim world, to step up efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

In addition to their discussions, President Erdogan expressed his satisfaction that President Abbas is scheduled to address the Turkish Grand National Assembly on Thursday, underscoring the significance of Türkiye’s continued support for the Palestinian cause.
