Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Highlights Pakistan-UK Friendship
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, underscored the strong and historic ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom on Wednesday during a ceremony celebrating the birthday of King Charles III. The event was hosted by the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ms. Jane Marriott, with Prof. Iqbal attending as the Chief Guest, according to a press release.
In his remarks, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal conveyed heartfelt congratulations from the Government and people of Pakistan, recognizing King Charles III’s dedication to public service and his commitment to the Commonwealth, including Pakistan.
The Minister praised the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and the UK, rooted in shared values of respect, trust, and cooperation. Emphasizing the need to strengthen economic ties, Prof. Iqbal called for expanding bilateral trade, investment, and people-to-people connections, highlighting the significant contributions of the British-Pakistani diaspora to the UK.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s unique strengths, from its rich cultural heritage and innovative entrepreneurial spirit to its accomplishments in science, technology, and the arts. Prof. Iqbal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the UK to address global challenges and promote a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable future.
