Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Meets Turkish Ambassador to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu, on Monday. The meeting focused on enhancing the historical and enduring relationship between the two countries, with particular emphasis on expanding bilateral trade, investment, and defense cooperation.
Welcoming Ambassador Neziroglu, Minister Aurangzeb expressed enthusiasm for furthering Pakistan-Turkiye relations and highlighted the substantial potential for increasing the volume of bilateral trade. He recalled his recent meeting with Mehmet Simsek, Turkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister, which took place on the sidelines of the World Bank Group/IMF Annual Meetings 2024 in Washington DC last month. Minister Aurangzeb underscored Pakistan’s interest in learning from Turkiye’s successful power sector reforms. He also invited Turkish firms to consider entering joint ventures with Pakistani counterparts, particularly in the fields of information technology and agriculture, which offer promising opportunities for economic growth and innovation.
Ambassador Neziroglu praised Pakistan’s economic reforms and the resulting macroeconomic stability, noting their significance for enhancing bilateral trade and investment.
