First Uzbekistan-China Interregional Forum Sets Stage for Bilateral Economic Collaboration

Urumqi, The Gulf Observer: In anticipation of the state visit by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the People’s Republic of China, the inaugural Uzbekistan-China Interregional Forum is currently underway in Urumqi. The event has gathered over 1,200 business leaders from both nations, setting the stage for significant economic engagements.

Within the forum’s framework, Business-to-Business (B2B) and Government-to-Business (G2B) meetings are scheduled, providing a platform for extensive discussions. These sessions are anticipated to culminate in the signing of substantial trade and investment agreements, fostering closer economic ties between Uzbekistan and China.

Complementing these negotiations, an exhibition showcasing export products labeled “Made in Uzbekistan” is on display, organized with the active support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. The primary objective of this exhibition is to spotlight the advancements of Uzbekistan’s industrial enterprises and underscore their achievements in the dynamic Chinese market.

Highlighting the robust economic relations, it’s noteworthy that over 2,000 enterprises with Chinese capital are currently thriving in Uzbekistan. Last year alone witnessed the successful implementation of more than 60 projects, totaling nearly $2 billion, with active involvement from Chinese companies. As the Uzbekistan-China Interregional Forum unfolds, it not only symbolizes the strength of existing collaborations but also paves the way for a new chapter of enhanced economic cooperation between the two nations.
