Former Refugees Deserve the Best Living Conditions: President Aliyev

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of citizens who had lived as refugees for many years, emphasizing that they deserve the best living conditions.
Speaking during a meeting with residents of the Badara, Dashbulag, Seyidbeyli, and Shushakand villages in the Khojaly district, President Aliyev recalled the government’s longstanding efforts to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) during the years of occupation.
“I remember saying in my numerous meetings with refugees at that time, during the occupation, that the government was trying to create conditions for you, and we did that,” the president said. He noted that approximately 300,000 former IDPs had been provided with houses and apartments by the government.
President Aliyev stressed that the state’s policy continues to prioritize the rehabilitation and resettlement of former refugees, highlighting ongoing efforts to ensure modern housing and infrastructure in liberated territories.
