Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Trends Research and Advisory, in collaboration with the University Platform for the Study of Islam, is organizing the fourth international conference of “PLURIEL.” The event, hosted in partnership with the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, will coincide with the fifth anniversary of the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Coexistence” and the International Day of Human Fraternity.
The four-day conference, titled “Islam and Human Fraternity: The Impact and Prospects of the Abu Dhabi Declaration on Coexistence,” will commence on 4th February at the Trends Research and Advisory headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The opening session will be led by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and feature addresses by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis.
The event, featuring over 57 speakers and chairpersons from 40 universities and research institutions worldwide, will include 12 sessions and five lectures. It serves as a platform to evaluate the impact of the Document on Human Fraternity, signed by Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb and Pope Francis five years ago, on global coexistence between Muslims and Christians, as well as to explore its future prospects.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of Trends Research and Advisory, highlighted the conference’s focus on assessing the Document’s impact and analyzing necessary transformations to promote global human fraternity. The discussions will cover socio-legal aspects, geopolitical considerations related to religion and ideology in current conflicts, and religious and theological dimensions, expanding the concept of fraternity to encompass all of humanity.
