Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Meets Tatarstan President Minnikhanov in Kazan

Kazan, The Gulf Observer: Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, met with Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, at the Kazan Kremlin on Friday. The meeting was confirmed by Minnikhanov’s press secretary, Liliya Galimova, through her official Telegram channel.
President Minnikhanov warmly welcomed Berdimuhamedov, describing him as a “dear and welcome guest” in Kazan, and underscored the strength of bilateral ties. “Relations between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan are based not only on strategic partnership but also on deep friendship,” he stated, expressing gratitude for Turkmenistan’s attention to advancing mutual cooperation.
Berdimuhamedov arrived in Kazan to participate in the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”, a high-profile platform aimed at enhancing collaboration between Russia and Islamic countries.
During his remarks at the forum, the Turkmen National Leader proposed the establishment of a unified energy, transport, and technology belt among Islamic nations, envisioned as a modern counterpart to the historic Silk Road. Berdimuhamedov emphasized that such a system could serve as a strategic transcontinental bridge and a major catalyst for sustainable economic growth across Eurasia.
His visit reflects Turkmenistan’s increasing engagement with regional partners in promoting multilateral cooperation and advancing economic integration within the Islamic world.
