IMF team to discuss macroeconomic developments in Oman
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) team will discuss the latest macroeconomic developments and prospects in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to discussing a number of topics related to fiscal and monetary policies, and government measures taken to mitigate the economic and financial repercussions at the regional and global levels.
Furthermore, the visit focuses on monitoring potential risks that could threaten financial stability.
During this visit, the Fund’s experts will hold meetings with a number of officials from the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, and several public authorities and other government entities, in addition to some civil society institutions, and private sector.
During these meetings, the IMF will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the economic and financial situation in the Sultanate of Oman.
The visit of the IMF Article IV consultation is set to take place from 1-15 November 2023, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman through the Central Bank of Oman and the Ministry of Finance.
These meetings are a continuation of the IMF team’s preparatory visit that was held during the period from 6-14 June 2023.
