Indonesia could become global king of green energy: Raka
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka has said that Indonesia could become the global king of green energy by continuing the development of various potential natural resources within the country.
“One day, Indonesia will become the king of green energy in the world by continuing to develop biodiesel, bioavtur from palm oil, bioethanol from sugar cane, as well as (advancing) sugar self-sufficiency,” he expounded while outlining his vision and mission at the vice presidential debate held by the General Elections Commission (KPU) in Jakarta on Friday.
In addition, he said that the country needs talented and skilled human resources to realize the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision.
For this, future challenges must be turned into opportunities, Raka added.
“In order to achieve the goal, we will prepare a generation skilled in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, sharia banking, and crypto,” he said.
He further said that if elected, he would push for sustainability, acceleration, and perfection of development.
“The big narrative here is sustainability, acceleration, and improvement,” he emphasized.
On December 13, 2023, the KPU announced three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election.
In the official number draw, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar were assigned number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.
The theme of the second debate on Friday included people’s economy, digital economy, finance, investment, taxes, trade, state budget and regional budget management, infrastructure, and cities.
In the first debate, the three presidential candidates conveyed their arguments regarding governance, law, and human rights, as well as corruption eradication, democratic strengthening, public service improvement, and the creation of harmony among citizens.
