Indonesian Defense Minister Vows to Bolster Defense Cooperation with Singapore
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto has affirmed his commitment to enhance defense collaboration with Singapore. In a recent statement, he expressed readiness to bolster defense ties, particularly following the implementation of the Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA). Subianto emphasized that this would entail joint training programs, maritime security initiatives, and educational exchanges.
Earlier on Saturday, Subianto engaged in a bilateral meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in Singapore, subsequent to attending the opening reception of the 21st edition of the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue.
During the meeting, Subianto conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Wong for the warm reception extended during the forum. He underscored the significance of the Shangri-La Dialogue in promoting regional dialogue, addressing security challenges, and fostering trust among nations in the Asia-Pacific region.
Scheduled to deliver a special address at the dialogue, Subianto was poised to discuss international involvement and commitment to upholding regional security stability.
Moreover, Subianto extended congratulations to Prime Minister Wong on his recent appointment and commended the exemplary leadership and effective communication demonstrated by Wong in fostering strong ties between Singapore and Indonesia.
