Indonesian government presents Vision for Golden Indonesia 2045
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: In a statement released from his office on Monday, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, outlined five crucial targets to propel Indonesia towards achieving the coveted status of Golden Indonesia by 2045.
Addressing the International Conference on law, policy, and politics initiated by the Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu, Effendy emphasized the importance of five parameters that must be collectively addressed to transform Indonesia into a developed nation boasting superior, professional, productive, and competitive human resources infused with Indonesian personality.
The minister highlighted the envisioned parameters, which include attaining a high per capita income equivalent to developed countries, with a Gross National Income per capita target of US$30,300. Additionally, the objectives encompass a zero percent poverty rate, a four percent unemployment rate, a high literacy rate, and keeping infant mortality below eight deaths per one thousand births.
Effendy underlined the government’s commitment to realizing competent and competitive human resources through the issuance of Presidential Regulation Number 68 of 2022. This regulation, enacted on April 27, 2022, focuses on the revitalization of vocational education and vocational training, aiming to prepare a skilled and qualified workforce aligned with the evolving demands of the global job market.
“To become a developed country and realize the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045, we must be able to prepare competent, productive, and competitive human resources in all industrial sectors and fields of work. We must also create many new entrepreneurs,” remarked Effendy.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by globalization and the digital technology era, the minister viewed these hurdles as opportunities, particularly in light of Indonesia’s demographic landscape. With a significant portion of the population belonging to Generation Z and Millennials, comprising 27.94 percent and 25.87 percent, respectively, Effendy called for collaborative efforts to overcome obstacles and collectively strive towards achieving Golden Indonesia 2045.
“Let us work together and collaborate to achieve Golden Indonesia 2045,” he affirmed, emphasizing the shared responsibility in realizing the ambitious national vision.
