Indonesian VP Gibran Rakabuming Raka Takes Orphans Shopping for Eid Clothes

Solo, The Gulf Observer: In a heartwarming gesture ahead of Eid, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka took 85 orphaned children shopping for Eid clothes at a store on Jalan Slamet Riyadi in Solo on Tuesday.
Accompanied by Surakarta Mayor Respati Ardi, the Vice President personally guided the children, allowing them to choose clothes based on their individual preferences. The children appeared excited and joyful as they selected new outfits, shoes, and accessories for the festive occasion.
Speaking to reporters, Gibran expressed his desire to bring happiness to the children through this initiative.
“This is the first time, and I am accompanied by the mayor as well, so the children can be happy with their new clothes,” he stated.
Mayor Respati Ardi noted that the children were selected based on data from the Surakarta City Social Affairs Office. The orphans came from seven different orphanages, with each child receiving a shopping budget of Rp500,000.
“The children bought a variety of items, including clothes, shoes, and glasses,” the mayor added.
The initiative reflects a commitment to social welfare, ensuring that underprivileged children can celebrate Eid with joy and dignity.
