International Conference Participants Visit Zangilan and Aghali as Part of Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons

Zangilan, The Gulf Observer: Participants of the international conference on “Uniting Efforts and Enhancing Cooperation for Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons,” held within the framework of the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons, visited Zangilan on Saturday as part of their tour of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
According to media reports, during the visit, delegates are scheduled to tour the newly built residential settlements in Aghali village, a model of post-conflict reconstruction and sustainable development in the region.
Earlier, conference participants visited a mass grave site in Balligaya village, located in the Aghdara district, where the remains of more than 10 individuals—believed to be Azerbaijani servicemen—were discovered at a former strategic height used as a combat position.
As part of their itinerary, the delegates also visited the city of Shusha, where they became acquainted with the historic Shusha prison. The site once held Azerbaijani civilians taken hostage, who, according to evidence, were subjected to severe mistreatment and torture during the occupation period.
The visits aim to provide international participants with a deeper understanding of the humanitarian consequences of conflict and underscore the importance of international cooperation in addressing the issue of missing persons and promoting justice for victims.
