Iran and Saudi Arabia Discuss Joint Investments at WAIPA Conference
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Abdolnaser Hemmati, emphasized Tehran and Riyadh’s commitment to pursuing joint investment projects during a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, Khalid Al-Falih. The discussion took place on the sidelines of the 28th World Investment Conference of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), held in Riyadh, according to reports on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on avenues for strengthening economic ties between the two nations. Both ministers highlighted the potential for bilateral collaboration to foster mutual interests.
During a ministerial panel on Monday, Hemmati presented Iran’s capabilities in climate action, technology transfer, and joint investment opportunities. He stressed that such initiatives align with the broader goals of sustainable development and regional cooperation.
Hemmati also held talks with Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations toward the bank and contributing to its initiatives.
The two-day WAIPA conference, themed “Future-ready IPAs: Navigating Digital Disruption and Sustainable Growth,” concludes on November 27. The event has brought together leaders and experts to discuss strategies for adapting to digital transformation and promoting sustainable economic growth.
