Iran Calls for Enhanced Dialogue with Persian Gulf Neighbors to Ensure Regional Stability

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: In a significant address at the Persian Gulf National Day ceremony on Thursday, Kamal Kharrazi, the head of Iran’s Strategic Council of Foreign Relations, emphasized the necessity of serious dialogue between Iran and the countries of the Persian Gulf. Kharrazi described such engagement as a cornerstone for the long-term stability of the region.
Highlighting the growing maturity and rationality of regional governments, Kharrazi underlined Iran’s active support for diplomatic efforts aimed at fostering stronger ties with Arab nations. He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to a policy of soft power diplomacy, which prioritizes expanding economic cooperation with neighboring countries.
Addressing concerns over Israel’s increasing influence in the Persian Gulf, Kharrazi stressed the importance of regional dialogue as a countermeasure to external interference. He proposed that a coalition of Iran, Iraq, and the six Persian Gulf Arab states could significantly enhance security, economic growth, and cultural cooperation in the region.
Kharrazi further advocated for a multi-dimensional approach to regional cooperation, encompassing not only economic collaboration but also advancements in energy, science, technology, culture, and shared heritage. He emphasized that political and military coordination would also be crucial for collective regional progress.
“The future of the Persian Gulf region depends on a strengthened partnership among its nations. Iran is prepared to engage in extensive and meaningful collaboration for the betterment of the entire region,” Kharrazi concluded, reinforcing Iran’s readiness to contribute to a prosperous and stable future.
