Iran Celebrates 46th Anniversary of Islamic Republic, Highlights Military Readiness and National Resolve

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran is marking the 46th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Republic with official statements emphasizing national resolve and military preparedness. On this significant occasion, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) underscored the country’s rise to a prominent regional position, contrasting it with the decline of global hegemonic powers.

In a statement, the IRGC celebrated the Iranian nation’s strong response to enemy propaganda, particularly during the International Quds Day rallies, which the organization claims demonstrated the waning influence of the United States and the failure of Israel’s hybrid warfare tactics.

“The dominance of the bullying U.S. is in decline, and the Israeli regime’s efforts have failed,” the statement declared. “Leaders of hegemonic powers should now fear the determination of the faithful fighters of the Islamic Resistance.”

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei emphasized that the Islamic Republic Day represents a critical moment in Iran’s history, marking the consolidation of power through a democratic process. He noted that in 1979, less than two months after the Islamic Revolution’s victory, Iranians chose their system of government through a referendum, underscoring their commitment to national sovereignty and dignity.

The Defense Ministry issued a statement describing the day as one of “national glory,” asserting that Iran’s Armed Forces now possess such power and deterrence that enemies have been stripped of any ability to pose a threat. It emphasized Iran’s readiness to respond immediately to any aggression.

“Any aggression or adventurism will be met with a severe and prompt response,” the ministry declared, without explicitly naming the U.S. or Israel. The Constitutional Council also joined in condemning the U.S., warning that any attempt to challenge Iran would be a “grave and irreparable mistake.”

The 46th anniversary commemorates the 1979 referendum in which 98.2% of Iranians voted in favor of establishing the Islamic Republic, following the victory of the Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini. The revolution ended over two millennia of monarchy in the country, replacing the regime of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

Since that pivotal moment, Iran has observed Islamic Republic Day as a celebration of its independence, freedom, and sovereignty.
