Iran Condemns Israeli Strikes on Hospitals as Third Medical Facility Targeted in Tehran

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: A hospital in Tehran was struck by a rocket at approximately 12:45 a.m. local time on Wednesday, marking the third medical facility to be targeted in recent days, according to Hossein Kermanpour, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Health.

In a statement released on social media, Kermanpour revealed that, in addition to the hospitals, six ambulances and a comprehensive health services center have also been attacked amid the escalating conflict. He strongly condemned what he described as continued “hostile and inhumane attacks” by the Israeli regime, calling them clear violations of international humanitarian conventions.

“Over the past week, these attacks on healthcare institutions have unfolded in blatant disregard of international law,” Kermanpour stated. “Such aggression against hospitals and medical workers undermines every principle of humanitarian protection.”

Kermanpour also criticized the global silence in response to the targeting of healthcare facilities, accusing international organizations of neglecting their legal and moral responsibilities under humanitarian law. He referred to the attacks as part of an ongoing campaign by the “occupying Zionist regime” and called for urgent accountability.

Earlier this week, on Monday, Israeli missiles struck the Farabi Hospital in the border city of Kermanshah, severely damaging parts of the facility and injuring several patients due to broken glass and damaged medical equipment. Prior to that, on June 14, an Israeli drone targeted the perimeter of Hakim Children’s Hospital in southern Tehran. That incident, too, drew widespread condemnation from Iranian health authorities and humanitarian organizations, who declared the strike a flagrant violation of medical neutrality and international humanitarian law.

The Iranian Ministry of Health stressed that the human toll of these attacks contradicts claims of “precision targeting” and further exposes the indiscriminate nature of Israeli military actions.

The continued targeting of medical infrastructure during armed conflict has raised alarm among humanitarian observers, with calls mounting for the international community to investigate and take decisive action to prevent further violations.
