Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty have underscored the importance of sustained consultations at bilateral, regional, and international levels to help prevent the escalation of crises and preserve stability in the Middle East.

The two top diplomats met ahead of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Jeddah, where they exchanged views on key bilateral, regional, and global developments.

Discussions particularly focused on the critical humanitarian situation in Gaza, where, according to the ministers, the ongoing siege and intensified military actions by the Israeli regime have exacerbated civilian suffering. Both sides stressed the urgent need for effective action by Islamic countries to halt the violence, stop what they described as “genocidal” practices, and ensure the swift delivery of humanitarian aid into the enclave.

Araghchi highlighted the significance of mobilizing collective capabilities of Islamic nations to counter hostile measures by Israel, emphasizing unity and solidarity among Muslim countries in confronting expansionist policies. He further reiterated the necessity of utilizing all available instruments of cooperation to stand against aggression and safeguard regional stability.

The Iranian minister also briefed his Egyptian counterpart on the latest developments in Iran’s nuclear negotiations with three European countries, outlining Tehran’s stance on the ongoing diplomatic process.
