Iran, Hungary Mark 100 Years of Diplomatic Relations, Vow to Deepen Cooperation

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Hungary, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjártó, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
During a telephone conversation held on Friday, Szijjártó extended congratulations to Iran, reiterating Hungary’s readiness to expand cooperation with Tehran across a wide range of sectors.
Foreign Minister Araghchi, in turn, emphasized Iran’s determination to enhance relations with Hungary on the basis of mutual respect and constructive engagement. He highlighted the significant potential for further collaboration between the two nations.
Addressing broader geopolitical issues, Araghchi strongly criticized the recent stance of three European countries, describing their threats to reinstate cancelled United Nations Security Council resolutions against Iran as illegal, unjustified, and irresponsible. He warned that such actions would have serious consequences, while underscoring Iran’s legitimate right to respond.
The Iranian top diplomat further noted that these measures have severely undermined Europe’s credibility as a negotiating partner and raised profound doubts regarding the real intentions of the countries involved.
