Iran, Qatar sign agreement on skilled workforce program

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: The Iranian and Qatari ministers have signed an agreement on cooperation in attracting and dispatching skilled workforce.

The signing ceremony was held in Tehran on Monday with the participation of Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Soulat Mortazavi and Qatari Minister of Labor Ali bin Samikh Al Marri.

Members of Iranian and Qatari delegations have held good meetings since yesterday, Mortazavi said while stressing the importance of implementation of mutual agreements.

Mahmoud Karimi Beyranvand, the Iranian deputy minister of cooperatives, noted in the meeting that memoranda of understanding between the two countries focus on various areas including hoteling, medicine, and maritime.

He went on to say that the Qatari side has demanded the dispatch of a skilled workforce in the mentioned areas.

Also, Mohammed Hassan Al-Obaidly, Assistant Undersecretary at the Qatari Ministry of Labor, announced in the meeting that a permanent joint working group has been formed to follow up on the implementation of mutual agreements.

Earlier, the Qatari minister at the head of a delegation arrived in the Iranian capital on Monday morning.
