Iran Reaffirms Commitment to Diplomacy and Regional Stability, Says FM Araqchi

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to diplomacy in upholding peace and stability, emphasizing that neighboring countries remain Tehran’s top priority.
Araqchi made the statement on his official X account on Sunday night following a short visit to Oman, where he held discussions with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi.
The visit to Muscat follows a prior meeting between Araqchi and Al Busaidi on March 7 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The two diplomats met on the sidelines of an extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers, convened at Iran’s initiative to address the ongoing situation in Gaza.
“In line with our plans during the recent meeting in Jeddah, I paid a short visit to Muscat to review bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest & concern with FM @badralbusaidi,” Araqchi stated on his X account, accompanying his post with a photograph from the meeting.
“Our commitment is to diplomacy in defense of peace and stability, and I am always delighted to engage with my Omani counterpart in pursuit of these aims. Our neighbors are our priority,” he added.
Iran has increasingly focused its foreign policy on strengthening ties with neighboring and regional countries, particularly in the economic sector, as part of efforts to mitigate the impact of Western-imposed sanctions, notably those from the United States. Tehran’s diplomatic initiatives aim to foster stability and cooperation in the region through constructive engagement and dialogue.
