Iran, Syria ink 15 cooperation documents
Damascus, The Gulf Observer: Referring to the signed cooperation documents between the two countries in a joint meeting of high-ranking delegations, the two sides emphasized the importance of the “comprehensive plan of strategic and long-term cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic” to serve the interests of the two nations and other nations of the region.
15 cooperation documents between Iran and Syria were signed in the presence of President Raisi and President Assad in Damascus on Wednesday.
“Several changes have failed to impact the brotherly relations between the two countries and Iran and Syria proved they were right in their positions,” President Raisi said remarks in a meeting with President Assad in Damascus earlier on Wednesday.
During the meeting, President Assad stressed that the Syrian government and people will not forget the support of their Iranian brothers, adding that Iran should have an effective presence in establishing lasting peace in Syria and in efforts to rebuild the country after years of war.
In a joint meeting of high-ranking delegations of the two countries, the Iranian and Syrian presidents emphasized that relations between Tehran and Damascus have been stable even in difficult periods.
