Iran-Tajikistan Trade Surges to $270 Million

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Nizamuddin Zahedi, has announced a significant increase in trade exchanges between Tajikistan and Iran, reaching $270 million. This milestone was highlighted during a meeting with Yaghoub Ali Nazari, the Governor General of Iran’s northeastern province of Razavi Khorasan.

According to Ambassador Zahedi, the value of bilateral trade has surged over the past five years, growing from $57 million to $270 million as of late March 2024. He underscored the substantial rise in trade volume, reflecting the strengthened economic ties between the two countries.

Governor General Nazari emphasized the shared cultural heritage of Iran and Tajikistan as a foundation for further enhancing trade relations. He also pointed out that the trade exchanges are on a steady upward trajectory, with both nations poised to continue building on their mutual interests.

Nazari added that Razavi Khorasan province possesses the infrastructure and resources necessary to host international exhibitions, positioning it as a potential hub for fostering increased trade and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
