Iran to Showcase Literary Heritage at Moscow International Book Fair 2025

Moscow, The Gulf Observer: The Islamic Republic of Iran will present its rich literary and cultural heritage at the 38th Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF), scheduled to take place from September 3 to 7, 2025.
Organized by Iran’s House of Book and Literature, the national pavilion will cover 27 square meters and feature more than 300 titles. The collection includes classical and contemporary works, Iranology studies, Persian language resources, and non-fiction publications, reflecting the country’s efforts to promote Persian language and literature, as well as to foster international cooperation in translation and copyright. This year’s presentation also commemorates the 1,500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Russia, Masoud Ahmadvand, highlighted the diversity of works on display, noting the inclusion of a special section dedicated to children’s books. The pavilion will also emphasize Iranian illustration, hosting interactive sessions with author Marjan Fouladvand and illustrator Atefeh Maleki Jou, who will lead workshops on children’s book illustration, storytelling, and Iranian mythology.
The program further includes book presentations, as well as meetings between Iranian publishers, authors, and international counterparts.
The Moscow International Book Fair, regarded as one of the leading literary events in the region, will this year feature India as the guest of honor. The fair brings together more than 300 publishers and distributors and offers a wide range of activities, including book launches, seminars, roundtables, workshops, and over 100 events dedicated to children. Special emphasis will be placed on the future of publishing, with a focus on digital formats and emerging technologies.
