Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization has officially confirmed that three of its nuclear facilities were targeted in recent U.S. airstrikes, but affirmed that its peaceful nuclear program will continue without interruption.

In response to U.S. claims that it destroyed Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, Iranian authorities acknowledged that explosions were heard in Natanz, located in Isfahan province, and that the entrance and exit sections of the Fordow nuclear site in Qom were damaged.

The Fordow facility, according to Qom Deputy Governor Morteza Heydari, was hit in a limited strike by enemy forces. Meanwhile, Arak hosts the Khondab nuclear facility, also reportedly among the sites affected.

Isfahan’s Deputy Governor Akbar Salehi stated that air defense systems were activated in both Isfahan and Kashan, effectively engaging aggressive targets.

Despite the attacks, Iranian officials reiterated their commitment to pursuing nuclear development solely for peaceful purposes, rejecting any notion that their program poses a threat.
