Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: President of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, has underscored the need to elevate Iran–Pakistan relations to their fullest potential, reaffirming the party’s commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation.

Sharif conveyed these remarks during a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, held in Islamabad. Extending congratulations to Iran on what he described as its victory in the recent 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime, Sharif said, “Our minds and hearts were with the nation and government of Iran throughout this war.”

He also praised Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Pakistan, terming it an important step toward strengthening bilateral ties.

The envoy lauded Pakistan’s principled stance in support of the Palestinian people amid ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza. He also expressed sorrow over the recent heavy rains and flooding in Punjab, acknowledging the effective response of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her efforts to provide relief to affected communities.

Highlighting cultural cooperation, Amiri Moghaddam encouraged the Punjab government to take further initiatives to promote the Persian language in local universities.
