Iranian FM emphasizes importance of developing ties with Indonesia
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has emphasized the importance of developing ties between the Islamic Republic and Indonesia.
In a meeting with Iran’s new ambassador to Indonesia on Monday, Amirabdollahian said that Indonesia is an important country in the world and East Asia, and therefore development of ties between Tehran and Jakarta is of paramount importance.
The top diplomat also stressed the need for following up the agreements which were signed during a trip by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Indonesia in May this year.
Iran’s new ambassador, Mohammad Boroujerdi, met with Amirabdollahian in Tehran before departing for Jakarta to begin his diplomatic mission there.
Boroujerdi has previously served at Iran’s embassies in China and South Africa, among other diplomatic positions.
