Iranian Foreign Ministry Expresses Readiness to Strengthen Global Scientific Cooperation

Shiraz, The Gulf Observer: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has announced the ministry’s readiness to support and expand scientific cooperation between Iranian universities and international educational and research institutions.
Baqaei, who travelled to Shiraz to attend the closing ceremony of the 43rd International Fajr Film Festival, visited Shiraz University on Wednesday, where he met with the university’s president, Alireza Afsharifar, to discuss opportunities for enhanced academic collaboration.
During the meeting, Baqaei underscored the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ commitment to facilitating broader engagement between Iranian universities and scientific research centres across the region and the world. He noted that strengthening academic links is an important component of Iran’s diplomatic efforts to advance scientific and technological cooperation.
For his part, Afsharifar affirmed Shiraz University’s readiness to contribute actively to the country’s scientific and technological diplomacy. He highlighted the institution’s capabilities and its willingness to engage in international research partnerships and academic exchanges.
The visit reinforced the shared intention of both sides to further develop global academic networks and promote Iran’s scientific presence on the international stage.
