Iranian President Calls for Regional Cooperation to Prevent Israeli Regime’s Tensions at ACD
Doha, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian urged Asian nations to unite against tensions fueled by the Israeli regime in the region, during a meeting with Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on the sidelines of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) summit in Doha.
In his address, President Pezeshkian emphasized the need for regional cooperation to counter foreign interference and the ongoing atrocities committed by Israel. “This regime is killing women and children, bombing hospitals, schools, and civilian targets under the pretext of self-defense. Such events are shameful, especially under the silence of the international community,” Pezeshkian remarked.
The Iranian president called on Asian nations to leverage platforms like the ACD to foster unity and ensure peace and stability in the region, preventing external powers from destabilizing it.
Pezeshkian also highlighted the strong 400-year historical relationship between Iran and Thailand, calling for enhanced bilateral cooperation through the establishment of joint commissions and working groups that would benefit both nations.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra echoed the Iranian president’s concerns, condemning the atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza. She reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to contribute to efforts aimed at establishing peace in the region, noting that forums like the ACD provide vital opportunities to address shared challenges and enhance regional cooperation.
The Asia Cooperation Dialogue summit continues to serve as a platform for discussing pressing regional and global issues, with leaders seeking solutions through collaboration and diplomacy.
